PRIVACY POLICY - WANNA WATCH Last updated: 5 August 2026 Wanna Watch is an offline-first watchlist app. It has no accounts, no servers of its own, and no analytics. This policy describes the whole of its data handling, which is short by design. WHAT WE COLLECT Nothing. Wanna Watch does not collect, store, transmit or sell personal data. There is no sign-up, no login, no email address, no advertising identifier and no analytics or crash-reporting SDK in the app. WHAT STAYS ON YOUR DEVICE Everything you create in the app is stored only on your device: - The titles on your watchlist, and when you added them - Which films and seasons you have marked as watched - Your notes and priority flags - Which streaming services you have marked as subscribed - Your settings: region, theme, refresh interval and display preferences - A cache of streaming availability retrieved from TMDb This data is never uploaded anywhere. Uninstalling the app deletes all of it. NETWORK REQUESTS Wanna Watch connects to one third party: The Movie Database (TMDb), and only to retrieve film and TV information you have asked for. Requests are made when you search for a title, when the app refreshes availability for titles on your list, and when it loads poster images. Each request contains a search term you typed or the identifier of a title on your list, plus your chosen region so that availability can be resolved for the right country. These requests do not include any account identifier, device identifier, or advertising ID. Wanna Watch does not send TMDb your watchlist as a whole, and TMDb cannot reconstruct it. As with any internet request, TMDb receives your device's IP address and processes it under its own privacy policy: https://www.themoviedb.org/privacy-policy Streaming availability data shown in the app is provided by JustWatch via TMDb. BACKUPS YOU CREATE The app can export your list to a JSON file that you choose the location for. That file contains your watchlist, watched state, notes and subscribed services. Once you have saved or shared it, the file is yours and is governed by wherever you put it — Wanna Watch has no further access to it and never uploads it. ANDROID SYSTEM BACKUP Depending on your Android settings, the operating system may include this app's local data in your device's Google backup. This is a platform feature performed by Android, not by Wanna Watch, and is governed by Google's own privacy policy and your device backup settings. You can disable it in your Android settings. CHILDREN Wanna Watch is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone, including children. Film and TV synopses are supplied by TMDb; adult content is excluded from search results at the API level. PERMISSIONS The app requests a single Android permission: Internet access, used only to reach TMDb for the requests described above. YOUR RIGHTS Because no personal data is collected or held by us, there is no data to access, correct, export or delete on our side. Your data lives on your device and is entirely under your control: you can delete it at any time by removing titles in the app or uninstalling it. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this URL with a revised "last updated" date. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
