Before you write

Including these usually saves a round trip:

  • your phone model, and whether it runs Android or iOS (with the version)
  • the Wanna Watch version, shown at the bottom of Settings
  • the region you have set, and the title you are asking about
  • what you expected to see and what you saw instead

Common questions

A title shows as unavailable, but I can watch it on that service

Availability comes from TMDb, sourced from JustWatch, and is resolved for the region set in Settings — not for wherever your phone happens to be. If the region is wrong, the answers will be wrong. If the region is right and the data is still wrong, the mistake is in the upstream catalogue rather than in the app; tell us the title and region and we will report it.

Why does a title I can rent not count as watchable?

By design. A title counts as watchable only when it is included in a subscription you have marked as yours. Rentals and purchases are listed for reference but never inflate the count — otherwise the number would tell you nothing about tonight.

Availability looks out of date

The app refreshes availability on the schedule you choose in Settings (daily, every two days or weekly) and shows when the last check ran. It refreshes over the network, so it needs a connection; the last known result is kept on device and shown offline.

I'm getting a new phone. How do I move my list?

Settings → Export to file writes your whole list — titles, watched seasons, notes, priority flags and subscribed services — to a single JSON file, saved wherever your phone's file picker points it (Files, Drive, a folder on the device). On the new phone, Settings → Import from file, and pick that file. There is no account and nothing syncs through us, so this export is the migration path — including between Android and iPhone.

A show I finished came back to my list

That is intentional: a new season landed. Seasons that are announced without a date show as TBA and do not count against you.

Can I delete my account or my data?

There is no account. No sign-up, no email, no server of ours holding anything. Everything the app stores is on your device: remove titles inside the app, or uninstall to delete all of it at once. See the privacy policy for what is stored and what leaves the device.

Is there an iPhone version?

Not yet — Wanna Watch is on Android today, and an iOS version is in development. There is no App Store link and no release date to give you. Write to contact@lina.pl if you want a message when it ships; we don't run a mailing list and we won't use your address for anything else.

Does the app send my watchlist anywhere?

No. It contacts TMDb only to look up titles you search for, refresh availability for titles on your list, and load poster images. Each request carries a search term or a single title identifier plus your chosen region — never your list as a whole, and never an account, device or advertising identifier.
